Writing L

Pick the letters, print the sheet, hand over a pencil. The grey letters are there to trace; the empty boxes are not. Same stroke order as the screen, because it is generated from the same data.

How to use it

  • Say the words while they write. The cue line above each row is the same wording the app speaks. Saying it out loud is doing real work.
  • Watch the start, not the shape. If the pencil starts at the bottom, stop and restart — a neat letter made the wrong way stays slow forever.
  • Five minutes, then stop. Past about six minutes of writing a five-year-old's letters fall apart from hand fatigue, and it looks exactly like a skill problem.
  • One or two letters a day. Not the whole alphabet. The teaching order groups letters that share a movement, so doing a block together is worth more than doing A, B, C.
